Are Billington’s Sugars gluten free?

Are Billington’s Sugars suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans?

Billington’s sugars are suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans.
Golden Icing is produced in a factory which uses egg so should be avoided by Vegans.

Are Billington’s sugars from sugar beet or cane?

Billington’s is manufactured from sugar cane which is grown in tropical climates including Mauritius, Malawi and Brazil.

Why are Billington’s Sugars Unrefined?

Unrefined sugars lock rather than refining out the natural molasses. This adds a depth of colour and flavour that refined brown sugars, which are simply coated in molasses, do not possess.

Can I replace the Sugar I use every day in my tea and coffee for Billington’s?

Billington’s Golden Granulated in a natural alternative to white refined sugar that is ideal for everyday use. It is perfect in your tea or coffee or sprinkled on your cereal.
Alternatively Billington’s Demerara or Coffee Crystals are ideal for sweetening your coffee and adding a crunch to crumbles and cakes.

Do Billington’s have Organic Sugars?

Billington’s have three different Organic sugar products, which are Organic Demerara, Granulated and Caster. All three have been approved by The Soil Association. To find out more about The Soil Association and organic products visit www.soilassociation.org/

What does Fairtrade sugar do to help communities in developing countries?

Billington’s have four Fairtrade Sugar’s, Demerara, Granulated, Light Brown Soft and Dark Brown Soft, all of which are certified by the Fairtrade Foundation. Billington’s Fairtrade sugars are produced in Africa. The premium has helped to fund a number of projects including water, housing, health and electricity in Malawi.
