Topic: Piping Bags

I watch many cookery programmes and all the chefs now use the clear, plastic bag like piping bags, some without nozzles when icing the tops of cupcakes.

Where can I obtain these bags as I have trouble with either the bags splitting or the icing sliding down the outside of the nozzle.

I've just bought some yesterday from Sainsbury's.  It's a box with 10 Disposable Piping Bags in, think they were £2.49.  I usually use a canvas one with it's bright yellow now after using Lemon Icing so often!!! x

Hi! I bought a box of Zipper Seal bags (20 in a box) from Morrisons for 99p as I've seen recipes that say just use zipper bags, snip a cut to fit piping nozzle in the corner and away you go! They're handy when you have different coloured icings on the go.

Lakeland sells disposable piping bags in packs of 50.

If you want roses or ridged swirls on top of your cupcakes you'll need a star nozzle, you can pipe swirls without this but they look a hell of a lot better with a nozzle.

You can also make DIY piping bags out of baking parchment paper.

Seen and bought the icing bags for the tops of cakes but I wondered where Eric got the large piping bags that he used to fill the cup cake cases with lemon mixture in his lemon meringue cake recipe? Looks like the sort of thing I could do with as I find it difficult to make all cupcakes the same size. I tried an icecream scoop but those larger bags look great.

I bought some a while ago off ebay they are large bags and quite strong I paid 99p for the bags then postage was around £1.30.  Hope this helps

I was given a silicone piping bag from Lakeland for my birthday....and it's really good. It's not disposable but is really easy to clean. I've used it loads already!

Disposable piping bags from Lakelands are really handy, you get 50 in a bag and they're really easy to use, not overly expensive and theres no spillage through nozzels.

I'd like to start decorating and have looked into different piping bags.  Lakeland's set has mixed reviews on their website.  I would prefer not to send more plastic to landfill, so does anyone have other suggestions for reusable bags?
