Topic: A different frosting for cupcakes?

I always either use buttercream or cream cheese to pipe onto cupcakes but now i am looking for something else to try.
Anyone have any recipes? smile

how about using a pastry cutter and laying a disk of rolled out fondant over the top over apricot glaze or a thin layre of butter cream?? U can use all colours and is fab 4 great designs.

you could use a chocolate ganache, marshmallow topping, italian meringue or italian meringue buttercream or fondant disks they are all delicious

Just experiment. My favourite at the moment is chocolate philadelphia mixed with royal icing sugar.
