Topic: Marlborough Cakes/Buns

Has anyone got a recipe for Marlborough Cakes/Buns (named this at M&S) as my father loves them and I'd like to give them a try.

Thanks

Kim

As far as I know, Marlborough is the brand name.  I've never heard of a generic Marlborough cake recipe. Can you describe the cakes you have in mind?

Hi, sorry about the late reply!

They are a lot like bread buns with sugar crystals on the top. I have found a recipe but it's for a bread machine - which i don't have.

I have a recipe for Marlborough Tart?  This is for a 10inch tart but I'm sure it would work as small buns.  Line a tart tin with pastry and spread thinly with jam.
Cream together 8 oz marg and 8 oz granulated sugar and add 2 whisked eggs one at a time; add 8 oz dessicated coconut mix thoroughly.  For a this size tart bake 30-40 mins at Gas Mk 5, 180C. I'm sure these are also in the Bero Book if you have one.
