Topic: Wholemeal Bread Recipe

Just polished off the loaf made on Friday evening in my food club.  It was the best batch so far, using the Allinson's flour, but this time with real yeast.  I have 22 children in my club, so we have to bake in batches.  As we only have an hour, we set the yeast to work away and then got into kneading our dough mixture.  The children then take their dough home, knock it back and set it to prove, before using their own ovens.
The kids are all 8-9 with one 5 year-old whose Mum comes to help.  Great fun and we are moving onto scones next week.  Any ideas on a good recipe to use with the children?  This time we are hoping to mix and bake at the same sitting..

Re: Wholemeal Bread Recipe

Well done, Alarabia. It sounds like a very worthwhile evening.

I'm not very knowledgeable about cooking with kids, but no doubt someone else here will suggest some suitable recipes. If they managed to make bread, they should have no problem with scones.

By the way, I was wondering what you mean by "real yeast". Is there any other kind?
