  1. Colour half of the ready to roll icing with black food colouring  and knead it until the colour is consistent throughout.
  2. Take half of the remaining white ready to roll icing and roll it into a fat sausage shape for the body. Roll small balls of sugar paste out of the remaining ready to roll icing. These will form the 'wool' on the sheep so they can be random in size. Take half of the remaining white ready to roll icing and roll it into a fat sausage shape for the body. Roll small balls of sugar paste out of the remaining ready to roll icing. These will form the 'wool' on the sheep so they can be random in size.
  3. Make 4 chunky legs out of the black ready to roll icing and put into position. Put the body onto the legs. the weight of the body may cause the legs to splay a little but you can support this once the sheep is finished.
  4. Using black ready to roll icing make the head and ears as shown in the photograph. Make little indentations with the end of the paintbrush where the eyes are and mark the mouth using the edge of a knife.

  5. Insert a small piece of dry spaghetti into the head and then gently push this into the neck end of the sheep's body.
  6. Moisten the body and the top of the head with a small amount of water and glue the little balls of white sugar paste into position to give the effect of a wooly coat.
  7. Support the sheep using pieces of sponge or scunched up pieces of kitchen towel for 24 hours or until the sugar paste is dry.
