Crunchy Oaty Biscuits Ingredients

175 grams Butter
175 grams Demerara Sugar (Billington's) Demerara Sugar (Billington's)
100 grams Golden Syrup (Silver Spoon) Golden Syrup (Silver Spoon)
75 grams Plain Wholemeal Flour (Allinson) Plain Wholemeal Flour (Allinson)
3 grams Bicarbonate Of Soda
250 grams Jordans Oats
1 tsp Cinnamon
100 grams Raisins
100 grams Cranberries
1 Stem Ginger, finely chopped
1 Free Range Eggs beaten Free Range Eggs
2 tbsp Water boiling

How to make Crunchy Oaty Biscuits

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C Fan/350°F/Gas mark 4. method tip
  2. Line the flat baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Place the butter, sugar and syrup in a large pan and warm over a moderate heat until the sugar is melted.
  4. Remove from the heat and add the flour, bicarbonate of soda, oats, cinnamon, raisins, dried cranberries and ginger. Add the egg and water and mix throroughly. Leave until cool enough to handle.
  5. Dampen your hands and shape the mix into 18 flattened balls. Place ont he baking sheet allowing plenty of room for the biscuits to spread. You may need to bake in batches.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and still a little soft. Leave to cool and serve.
