Healthy & Hearty Wholemeal Loaf Ingredients

650 grams Very Strong Wholemeal Bread Flour (Allinson) Very Strong Wholemeal Bread Flour (Allinson)
2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's) Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's)
15 grams Soft Butter
7 grams Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson) Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson)
400 ml Warm Water

How to make Healthy & Hearty Wholemeal Loaf

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C/200°C Fan/450°F/Gas Mark 7. method tip
  2. Use a large bowl to mix the flour, salt, sugar and stir in the yeast. Rub in butter (or vegetable oil 15ml). method tip
  3. Add water and mix to form soft dough, then knead for 10 minutes on a floured surface. method tip
  4. Divide the dough evenly between two and greased 450g/1lbs tins. method tip
  5. Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes or until dough has doubled in size. method tip
  6. Place in the centre of the pre-heated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack method tip
