Oatmeal Bread Ingredients

300 grams Very Strong White Bread Flour (Allinson) Very Strong White Bread Flour (Allinson)
200 grams Oatmeal Bread Flour -1/2 medium oatmeal, 1/2 Allinson strong Oatmeal Bread Flour -1/2 medium oatmeal, 1/2 Allinson strong
150 grams Oatmeal Medium
2 tsp Salt
25 grams Butter Chopped
7 grams Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson) Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson)
3 tbsp Runny Honey
150 ml Natural Yoghurt
300 ml Water Warmed

How to make Oatmeal Bread

  1. Put the flours into a large bowl. Add the oatmeal, salt and butter. Rub the butter into the flour to combine. method tip
  2. Sprinkle over the Easy Bake yeast. Pour in the honey, natural yoghurt and warm water. method tip
  3. Mix together with your hands until the mixture combines to make a rough dough ball.
  4. Tip the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and stretch and knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. method tip
  5. Grease a 900g (2lb) loaf tin. Shape into an oblong and carefully lower into the prepared tin. Cover loosely with cling film. Leave in a warm place until doubled in size. (This will take about 30-40 minutes.) method tip
  6. Preheat the oven to 220°C/fan 200°C/gas 7. Remove cling film from bread and reduce the oven temperature to 200°C/fan 180°C/gas 6. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes until golden. To test to see if the loaf is ready, upturn and tap the base - it should sound hollow. method tip
