Summer Strawberry Jam Ingredients

800 grams Strawberries fresh or frozen (equivalent to 900g unprepared fruit)
1 kg Jam Sugar (Silver Spoon) Jam Sugar (Silver Spoon)
Butter Knob of

Additional Ingredients

Equipment:

Potato masher or liquidiser
Heavy based 4.5lt saucepan
3-4 jars with lids

How to make Summer Strawberry Jam

  1. Crush the strawberries with a potato masher or in a liquidiser and place them into the saucepan method tip
  2. Add the Silver Spoon Jam Sugar and heat gently whilst stirring continuously until the Jam Sugar dissolves. Do NOT BOIL at this stage. method tip
  3. Add a knob of butter method tip
  4. Keep stirring, increasing the heat bringing it to a full rolling boil, one that bubbles vigorously, rises in the pan and cannot be stirred down. method tip
  5. Start timing and boil for 4 MINUTES ONLY method tip
  6. Remove from heat, working quickly, pot into warm jars and cover method tip
  7. Makes approx. 1 1/2 kg (31/4lb) method tip
  8. This recipe can be used for raspberries. tayberries and loganberries. method tip
