Bread and Butter Pudding Ingredients

8 Wholemeal Bread (Allinson) Wholemeal Bread (Allinson)
25 grams Butter unsalted
50 grams sultanas
2 tsp ground cinnamon
350 ml whole milk
50 ml double cream
2 Free Range Eggs Free Range Eggs
25 grams Caster Sugar (Silver Spoon Homegrown) Caster Sugar (Silver Spoon Homegrown)
Grated Nutmeg

How to make Bread and Butter Pudding

  1. Butter a pie dish. Cut the crusts off the bread, spread one side of each slice with butter, then cut into triangles.
  2. Arrange a layer of bread in the dish, add some of the sultanas and sprinkle with cinnamon, repeat until all the bread is used.
  3. Warm the milk and cream in a pan until hot but not boiling.
  4. Whisk the eggs and sugar until pale, then add the warm milk and cream and stir.
  5. Pour the custard over the bread and sprinkle with sugar and a little nutmeg. Leave to stand for 30 minutes.
  6. Heat the BBQ until hot, then place the bread pudding on a baking sheet then into the BBQ.
  7. Bake, with the lid down, for approximately 45 minutes, until the top in golden brown.
  8. Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream.
