Rhubarb Crumble

Everyone will love this rhubarb crumble recipe. If you fancy putting a twist on the classic why not add orange rind and juice or chopped stem ginger to the rhubarb or add a handful of chopped nuts to the crumble for a tasty variation.

550 grams Rhubarb
3 tbsp Golden Granulated Sugar (Billington's) Golden Granulated Sugar (Billington's)

For the crumble

125 grams Plain White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly) Plain White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly)
75 grams Butter
50 grams Demerara Sugar (Billington's) Demerara Sugar (Billington's)

How to make Rhubarb Crumble

  1. Heat the oven to 190°C, 170°C fan. method tip
  2. Cut the rhubarb into 5cm chunks and place in a shallow baking dish. Sprinkle with the sugar and 3 tbsp water.
  3. To make the crumble place the butter, flour and sugar in a mixing bowl and rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips until it resembles coarse crumbs. method tip
  4. Pile onto the rhubarb and bake for 35-45 mins until golden brown.
