3 Orange sliced
2 Star Anise
6 Whole Cloves
2 Cinnamon Stick
4 Bay Leaves
2 Half Spoon Granulated Sugar (Silver Spoon) Half Spoon Granulated Sugar (Silver Spoon)

How to make Fruity Glazed Gammon Joint

  1. Preheat oven to 200 °C, 400 °F, Gas Mark 6. method tip
  2. Prepare the gammon by removing all the outer skin and fat with a sharp knife.
  3. Place in a large saucepan and cover with cold water.
  4. Add the orange slices, cloves, cinnamon and bay. Bring the pan to the boil, cover and simmer gently for 1 hour.
  5. Transfer the gammon to an oven proof dish pouring some of the stock around to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the dish.
  6. Coat the meat with Silver Spoon Low Calorie sweetener and bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool then garnish with orange and pineapple slices and pitted cherries.
  8. Serve sliced cold with fruit chutney.
