Gluten Free Scones Ingredients

250 grams Gluten Free Self Raising Flour
1 tsp Gluten Free Baking Powder
50 grams Butter
50 grams Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's) Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's)
1 Free Range Eggs (medium) Free Range Eggs
125 ml Milk Milk

How to make Gluten Free Scones

  1. Set the oven to 220 °C(200°C fan) or Gas Mark 6. method tip
  2. Place the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs, then stir in the sugar. method tip
  3. Lightly beat together the egg and milk. Add this to the flour mixture and stir to form a soft dough. method tip
  4. Turn the mixture onto a very lightly dusted work surface knead into a circle about 3-4cm thick. Using a round cutter, cut the dough into 8-9 scones.
  5. Place the scones on a baking tray and out into the centre of a preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes. Remove when golden in colour. method tip
  6. Cool and serve with jam and clotted cream.
