Essential White Rolls Ingredients

650 grams Very Strong White Bread Flour (Allinson) Very Strong White Bread Flour (Allinson)
2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's) Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's)
15 grams Soft Butter
7 grams Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson) Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson)
400 ml Warm Water

How to make Essential White Rolls

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C/200°C Fan/450°F/ Gas 7 method tip
  2. Using large bowl mix flour, salt, sugar and stir in yeast. Rub in butter (or add Vegetable oil 15ml). method tip
  3. Add water and mix to form soft dough, then knead for 10 minutes on a floured surface. method tip
  4. Divide into 50-75g/2-3oz balls and shape on a baking sheet method tip
  5. Cover and leave to rise in a warm place until dough has doubled in size. method tip
  6. Place int he centre of the pre-heated oven and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack. method tip

"This receipe was easy to follow although it was very sticky and I had to add more flour next time I will add the water slowly and not put as much in. The breadcake were lovely though and very light"

"Is the amount of water correct ? It usually is half the amount of flour and I found this so sticky it was impossible to hand kneed"
