Fougasse with Fragrant Herbs Ingredients

450 grams Very Strong White Bread Flour (Allinson) Very Strong White Bread Flour (Allinson)
1.50 tbsp Dried Herbs de Provence
1 tbsp Granulated Sugar (Silver Spoon Homegrown) Granulated Sugar (Silver Spoon Homegrown)
2 tsp Salt
1.25 tsp Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson) Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson)
80 ml Olive Oil
225 ml Warm Water Warm

How to make Fougasse with Fragrant Herbs

  1. Put the flour, herbs, sugar, salt and yeast into a bowl.
  2. Mix to a soft dough with the oil and water. method tip
  3. Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes. method tip
  4. Shape as desired and leave to prove slowly until double in size. Add your chosen topping/glaze if using and place in an oven preheated to 220°C/fan 200°C/Gas Mark 7 and immediately turn the heat down to 200°C/fan 180°C/Gas Mark 6. method tip
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes for a loaf and 15-20 minutes for a flat bread. method tip
