These adorable vanilla bride and groom wedding biscuits are perfect favours to gift to your wedding guests, giving your special day a wonderful homemade, personal touch.   These biscuits can be made in advance and frozen on day of baking (un-iced). Once iced, consume within a few days.

10 ingredients15 steps

    Method

    1. Step 1

Mix together the butter and sugar, then add the egg yolks and vanilla extract. Beat the ingredients until incorporated.

    2. Step 2

Add the flour and using a wooden spoon bring the mixture together until it forms a dough (you may want to use your hands to make it easier).

    3. Step 3

Wrap the dough in cling film and chill for 30 minutes.

    4. Step 4

Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan, gas mark 4).

    5. Step 5

Once chilled, roll out to 1cm thickness and using a heart shaped cutter, cut out each biscuit.

    6. Step 6

Place on a lined baking sheet then bake for 15 minutes until golden.

    7. Step 7

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack.

    8. Step 8

For the bride biscuits, roll out the ivory sugar paste and cut into a heart shape.

    9. Step 9

Brush the biscuit with warm apricot jam and cover with the sugar paste.

    10. Step 10

Roll out the white sugar paste icing and layer this on top of the ivory icing, using water to stick. You will need to trim some of the top to make the brides dress shape.

    11. Step 11

Make up the royal icing according to pack instructions and fill a piping bag. Snip a small hole and pipe the detail on the dress and necklace.

    12. Step 12

For the groom biscuits, roll out the white sugar paste icing and cut into a heart shape.

    13. Step 13

Brush the biscuit with warm apricot jam and cover with the sugar paste.

    14. Step 14

Roll out the black sugar paste icing and cut out a heart, removing a triangle out of the top, then lay on top of the white sugar paste, sticking with water.

    15. Step 15

Use the remaining royal icing to pipe the detail on the suit.
