Classic French Chocolate Mousse

This blackcurrant mousse is deliciously sweet, sharp &amp; creamy, the perfect summer dessert. Experiment further by adding 2-3 tablespoons of blackcurrant liqueur. Watch the video below for tips on getting soft peaks from your egg whites.

Blackcurrant Mousse

Why should you make this Chocolate Mousse? It takes 15 minutes to make, uses only two ingredients (eggs and chocolate) and makes a classy dessert for four people. The key to this Chocolate Mousse recipe is to make sure you get the home made Bain Marie (bowl over warming water in a saucepan) right. To high a heat and you will risk burning your chocolate. If you are not comfortable doing it that way, melt the chocolate in the microwave for around 30 seconds. We've found that letting your chocolate cool down until it is barely warm is the best way to avoid the warming the egg whites. The second secret to making a great Chocolate Mousse is to make sure you whip the egg whites until they are foamy and beginning to hold their shape. This ensures your Chocolate Mousse will be light and fluffy when you add in the chocolate. This recipe does use raw egg whites so do check that your guests are all ok eating this. When setting the Chocolate Mousse, we found that anywhere between 8 and 24 hours is enough time to allow them to set properly. Make sure you leave enough time in your schedule for setting.

The Aztec Chocolate Avocado Mousse is&nbsp;simple and quick vegetarian pudding to make but success depends on&nbsp;using very ripe, creamy, non-fibrous avocados. Good Hass avocados are probably best. You need a&nbsp;jar of stem ginger in syrup and you could use some of the syrup in the mousse instead of honey. This delicious recipe was created by the Hairy Bikers and features in The Hairy Dieters Go Veggie.

Great British Bake Off Runner up from series 7 has shared with us this tasty Coffee Chocolate Mousse Cake recipe. This cake is based on a coffee&nbsp;fluffy and airy sponge topped with a delicious praline paste with sumptuous chocolate nuggets.&nbsp;

Coffee Chocolate Mousse Cake

This is no ordinary mousse. This is an indulgent silky mousse bursting with flavour that you can whisk up way ahead of time and just leave it to hang out chilling in the fridge whilst you crack on with the rest of your day. Stress free and scrummy. The combination of white chocolate, rum and lime paired with a strawberry and peppercorn sauce may sound a little exotic for a mousse but believe us when we say this will knock your socks off. You can freeze the leftover sauce in ice cube trays and use whenever you fancy with a quick blast of indulgence.

White Chocolate Mousses

Our Mixed Berry Mousse Cake recipe is a no bake dessert with a smooth, fruity topping, cinnamon biscuit base and a fresh fruit decoration or fruit coulis. The preparation time is around 20 minutes but you'll want to leave the Mousse Cake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, maybe even over night before serving. This ensures the cake is set and you are able to slice it. This is a really good dessert recipe if you oven is being used for something else as all you need is some space on the worktop, a saucepan on the hob and some space in the fridge.
