About the bake

These super light, and sweet Mini Apple & Cinnamon Crumbles are a perfect picnic pick-me-up, or a delicious way of having the humble crumble you love, but keeping it low in sugar.

This classic twist on a traditionally hearty recipe brings all the comforting nostalgia of a crumble with sweet, warm cinnamon. But best of all, because we've used Truvia for Baking Brown you'll still get the crunchy crumble bite to these yummy little puddings, but without the added sugar. Win win!

Method

  1. Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan 160°C, gas mark 4).

  2. Step 2

Place the diced apple into a saucepan, add the Truvia for Baking Caster and water, bring to a simmer, cover and cook the apples for about five minutes, until softened.

  3. Step 3

Meanwhile prepare the crumble topping; put the flour into a mixing bowl and rub in the butter with your fingertips, until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the Truvia for Baking Brown, rolled oats and cinnamon.

  4. Step 4

Divide the apple into four individual ovenproof dishes, then sprinkle the crumble topping over the fruit. Place the dishes on the middle shelf of the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the crumble is golden and fruit bubbling.

  5. Step 5

Allow to cool slightly before serving.
