About the bake

Sesame Snaps are a well loved snack which you can buy from most supermarkets. But why bother when you can make them yourself at home. This recipe is really simple and takes only 15 minutes to make and 3 ingredients.

Also you won't even have to turn on your oven for these Sesame Snaps, just some space on the hob, a frying pan and a baking tray will do the job. Be sure to slice them into rectangles while they are still slightly warm so that they are a good size for snacking.

If you love all things sesame and fancy making something a little different, try our BĂĄnh TiĂȘu recipe.

Method

  1. Step 1

Place sesame seeds in a dry frying pan and heat gently until the sesame seeds are lightly golden.

  2. Step 2

Remove from the pan. Add the caster sugar and heat until it turns into a golden caramel, add the honey and continue heating until the sauce is a rich golden caramel, then tip in the sesame seeds and stir.

  3. Step 3

Pour into a large tin and allow to set. Mark into slices with a knife while still warm so that it will break easily when cold.

Pretty good recipe. I baked it at 180 degrees celsius for about 10 mins to make it a bit snappier, and it worked really well. Great for an easy gift!
