A chocolate bread and butter pudding is one of those simple, but brilliant hot puddings– and even better prepared two days in advance.
We recommend using homemade white bread and serving it in small portions because it's very rich.
If you're on the hunt for more chocolate-based recipes, we think you'll enjoy our chocolate tart.

Method
Step 1
Butter a 1.5 litre baking dish with the butter. Use remaining butter to butter the sliced bread. Cut the bread into triangles, and arrange neatly and compactly in the dish. Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan 160°C, gas mark 4).
Step 2
Mix together the drinking chocolate, eggs, milk, single cream, grated chocolate and sugar. Pour the cream mix evenly over the bread. Set aside to soak for 15 minutes.
Step 3
Bake for 40 minutes. Serve hot with custard or cream.
